Ask President Bush to Sign the SCHIP Bill
If the powerful tobacco industry has its way, covering additional uninsured kids will go up in smoke.
President Bush made headlines when he vetoed a bill to reauthorize and
expand the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, called SCHIP. Now
he is threatening to veto a newer version of the bill, despite
concessions agreed to by Congress. Now he says he does not want big
tobacco--the culprit of many health-related woes--taxed to pay for the
program.
We need your help. Email President Bush and ask him to sign the revised children’s health bill.
