Setting energy efficiency standards for just 14 common products would save New Jersey homes and businesses more than $1.6 billion by 2020 and significantly offset growing energy demand. NJPIRG Citizen Lobby is already advocating legislation to make this a reality, making furnaces, boilers, and DVD players up to 90 percent more efficient. NJPIRG is supporting A1763, a bill setting energy efficiency standards for certain products.
