NJPIRG Mourns the Loss of Senator Lautenberg

Statement of Jen Kim, NJPIRG State Director, on Passing of Senator Lautenberg

NJPIRG

TRENTON-“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Senator Frank Lautenberg. New Jersey has lost a tireless voice for the public good. Year after year, Sen. Lautenberg stood up to the chemical industry and demanded that the public be protected from the dangers of toxic chemicals. Whether working to improve the safety of New Jersey’s countless chemical facilities or pushing to clean up some of the worst toxic dump sites, Sen. Lautenberg could always be counted on to stand up for the health and safety of New Jerseyans.”

“While Sen. Lautenberg has passed on, his leadership on visionary transportation projects like the Hudson River rail tunnel will leave a lasting legacy that New Jerseyans will benefit from for years to come.”
